It can be difficult to find the right bus from Don Muang International Airport to central Bangkok. In this post, you will learn about the buses that service the airport and where to find them.

You can take both airport buses and public buses from Don Muang Airport to central Bangkok. However, only the airport buses are allowed to enter the airport.

There are four airport bus services available at Don Muang Airport, as listed below.

Airport LimoBus Express


Airport Limobus Express runs between Don Muang International Airport and downtown Bangkok.

Airport LimoBus Express is a white 33 seat or 20-seat bus. The vehicles feature free wifi and comfortable seats. The fare is 150 baht.

At Don Muang Airport, the pick up points are at the International Passenger Terminal (Terminal 1), gate 5 and at the Domestic Passenger Terminal (Terminal 2), gate 14.

Don Muang Airport - Khao San Road


Airport LimoBus Express is the only direct public transportation between Don Muang Airport and Khao San Road, a popular area among backpackers. The service from the airport runs every hour from 10:30 a.m. until midnight and the trip takes about 45 minutes.

There are 2 ticket counters at the airport, located in Terminal 1, at gate 5 and in Terminal 2, at gate 14. You can also reserve tickets online.

When you travel from Khao San Road, the service operates from 11:00 a.m. until 01:00 a.m. The pick up point is in front of Starbucks Coffee on Chakrabongse Road, across from Chana Songkhram Temple. Tickets can be purchased on the bus. At Don Muang Airport, the passengers are dropped off between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Don Muang Airport - Lumpini Park


From Don Muang Airport, Airport LimoBus Express runs every hour from 10:30 a.m. until midnight. The trip takes about 45 minutes. The tickets can be purchased at the Airport LimoBus Express counters, located in Terminal 1 at gate 5 and in Terminal 2 at gate 14. It's also possible to reserve tickets online.

When you travel from the airport, the drop off point is around the King Rama VI Monument, at the entrance of Lumpini Park on Rama IV Road. It is near BTS (sky train) Sala Daeng station and MRT (subway) Si Lom station.

Traveling from Lumpini Park, the service operates from 11:00 a.m. until 01:00 a.m. The pick up point is around the King Rama VI Monument; just look for the Airport LimoBus Express bus. Tickets can be purchased on the bus. At Don Muang Airport, you will be dropped off between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

A1 Don Muang Airport - BTS Mo Chit


The A1 bus leaves from the ground level floor. The pick up points are outside the International Passenger Terminal (Terminal 1), at gate 6, or outside the Domestic Passenger Terminal (Terminal 2), at gate 11. The flat fare is 30 baht and tickets are available on the bus.

There is an information counter at Terminal 1 on the ground level floor, at gate 6, where you can check the bus routes and schedules. The counter is manned from 7:00 a.m. until 11:30 p.m.

The bus from Don Muang Airport drops off passengers outside Mo Chit BTS station, on the park side.

Going from Mo Chit to the airport, the pick up point is at the same place. The bus operates every 15 minutes, starting from 7 a.m. until midnight. It's common that the buses are delayed.

A2 Don Muang Airport - Victory Monument


From Don Muang Airport, the A2 bus leaves from the same pick up points as the A1 bus. The fare is 30 baht, which can be paid on the bus.

When you are coming from Don Muang Airport, you get dropped off at the Victory Monument, in front of Koh Pahol Yothin bus stop area.

Traveling from the Victory Monument to the airport, the pick up point is in the same place. The bus operates every 15 minutes, from around 9:00 a.m. until 11 p.m.

Public Buses


Public buses are only practical if you travel light since you need to take a pedestrian bridge to cross the road, in order to take the bus. The bus stop is called Wat Don Muang, and it is located across the road from Don Muang Airport, on Vibhavadee Rangsit Road.

To get to the bus stop from the International Passenger Terminal (Terminal 1), exit through gate 1 and follow the walk way leading to Family Mart. From there, take the pedestrian bridge across the road to the bus stop.

If you arrive at the Domestic Passenger Terminal (Terminal 2), you first have to make your way to Terminal 1. It's easier to walk inside the terminal, than outside.

The ticket prices range from 6.5-24 baht, depending on the kind of bus you take and how far you travel.

Helpful Tips


To get to the Khao San Road area, take bus number 59 to the Khok Wua Intersection, which is located at the intersection of Ratchadamnoen Klang Road and Tanao Road. From there, you can walk to Khao San Road.
